Copying service configurations

When working with services, it's sometimes useful to be able to copy or transfer configuration settings from one service to another (existing or new). This process is sometimes referred to as service cloning.
Limitations
During beta, only a subset of configuration settings can be copied between delivery services. You specifically cannot copy settings for the following:
Configuration settings between compute services cannot be copied.
Copying service configurations to an existing service
To copy a subset of a service's configuration settings to an existing service, follow the steps below:
Log in to the Fastly control panel.
From the Home page, select the appropriate service. You can use the search box to search by ID, name, or domain.
- From the Options menu next to the service details, select Copy to a service.
- From the Copy to an existing service menu, select the existing service to which the configuration settings should be copied.
- From the configuration settings that appear, select or deselect settings as appropriate.
- Click Copy configuration. The existing service to which the configuration settings are being copied appears.
Copying service configurations to a new service
To copy a service's configuration settings to an entirely new service, follow the steps below:
Log in to the Fastly control panel.
From the Home page, select the appropriate service. You can use the search box to search by ID, name, or domain.
- From the Options menu next to the service details, select Copy to a service.
- In the Copy to a new service field, enter the name of a new service to which the configuration settings should be copied.
- From the configuration settings that appear, select or deselect settings as appropriate.
- Click Copy configuration. The newly created service with the copied configuration settings appears.
